After a really long and fulfilling trip in New Zealand, we finally reached Christchurch. I was disheartened to see what was left behind of the city after the devastation caused by the earthquakes. At Christchurch, we saw Sign of the Takahe & Cardboard Cathedral. Quake City was under renovation but I highly recommend a visit if you get a chance.

There are many side trips from Christchurch including the one to Kaikoura for whale watching. So my recommendation would be to add a few days if you want to check out these places too.

The room is a private cottage that is beautiful done and is equipped with all the modern facilitates. It was a very spacious room with a joined bath and a functional kitchen with necessary utensils. The room had all the basic dry kithchen items for a quick breakfast. This included nespresso coffee machine, milk, muesli, tea bags etc. This was quite useful for us in the mornings. The cottage had a huge private parking.

Utilities

Chris was a great host and helped us with the necessary know how of the town even before we reached Christchurch. This helped us in the trip planning as well. Chris’ mom is just adorable. She was there to welcome us when we reached Christchurch and is very hearty. Nothing can make the vacation more joyful than having wonderful hosts to host you.
